Tehran Faults Not Activated After Quake

The 4.1 magnitude quake in Pishva and Varamin on Thursday night had not activated major fault lines in Tehran, said Hadi Rahmati, director general  of the Crisis Management Organization.

“The faults are related to Eyvanekey in Semnan Province. Semnan is located 216 km east of Tehran, Alef News Agency quoted him as saying.  A report by the  Seismological Center of the Institute of Geophysics of the University of Tehran, said the quake on Thursday night rattled the districts of Javad Abad, Pishva and Varamin, south of Tehran.
