The “children and teenagers police force,” an innovation within the National Code of Criminal Procedure, is to be formed in July, said Major Jamshid Rad, an official with the legal department of the police force. “Based on Article 31 of the law, the new force will be established and operate under the auspices of the police force. It will attend to matters concerning children and adolescents in an efficient and prudent manner,” he said, ISNA reported. He said the police force is becoming attuned to crimes committed by particular groups in society, and officers go through regular training and assessment.
